More Israeli idiocy, this time from America

Yes, of course. Elected Democrats held a rally in New York, calling for the “terrorists” who organized the Ship to Gaza flotilla to be banned from the US so they can’t get into the country. They want visas to be denied and all that jazz. I love how they call aid workers terrorists and how a humanitarian aid effort is somehow a terrorist action. Goddamn idiots.

I am on board here with you and fully agree that these guys are complete tools.

But I also do wonder if the intents of ALL on board were completely just to deliver aid. I’m not that naive. Were they delivering rockets or other shady things? Not at all.

But to say it was just aid being delivered is likely not entirely true either – this whole thing gets messy as people mix in aid, with making political statements etc.

Either way, the whole situation is a complete disaster and for folks to call them terrorists just … well I’m not even sure what to say any more.

Nothing is ever simply one thing, so no, I don’t believe either that it was a pure aid convoy. I think part of it was to provoke the Israeli military into a response like this, because that would work in their favor from the public eye. I also think it was made to shed light on the ridiculousness of the blockade. Among the things on the restricted goods list that can’t be brought into Gaza are stuff like simple foods and spices, for crying out loud. They have NOTHING in Gaza. And the fact remains that Israel assaulted and killed civilians on international water. The talk about ties to Hamas is so idiotic that I don’t know where to begin and it’s brought up in the article too. No one is purely innocent, especially not either side in the Israel/Palestine conflict, but as far as I’m concerned, Israel are BY FAR the biggest instigators. It’s state-sponsored terrorism and the rest of the world needs to react properly and put both nations on a level playing field and also force them both to play nice, whatever works.

Also, by attempting to lighten the blockade, it is also, of course, conceivable that the motive is to lighten it enough to make it easier to bring in arms.
